Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper structures of the muscle and fascia. Deep tissue is a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots. The Therapist will use firm pressure during a deep tissue massage, however it SHOULD NOT be painful. Please notify your knowledgeable Therapist if pain is involved.

Relaxing Swedish

Swedish massage is the most commonly offered and best known type of massage. Therapist uses a firm but gentle pressure to improve the circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, improve flexibility and create relaxation.

Trigger Point Therapy

A trigger point is an unrelaxed muscle fiber that causes a hyper irritable spot or knot that is painful. It is named “trigger point” because it “triggers” a painful response in a certain area of the body when pressed. This is what is called a “referred pain” pattern. A Massage Therapist uses various techniques including deep tissue and stretching to release or deactivate the trigger point.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is designed to help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training. Sports massage is also good for people with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion. Sports massage stimulates circulation of blood and lymph fluids. Some sports massage movements use trigger point therapy to break down adhesion’s (knots in the muscles) and increase range of motion.

Prenatal Massage

A woman can receive Massage Treatments throughout the terms of pregnancy. Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pain, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health. Massage therapy addresses different needs through varying techniques, one of which is Swedish Massage, this aims to relax muscle tension and improve lymphatic and blood circulation through mild pressure applied to the muscle groups of the body. Swedish Massage is the recommended prenatal massage method during pregnancy because it addresses many common discomforts associated with the skeletal and circulatory changes brought on by hormone shifts during pregnancy.

Foot  Massage/Reflexology For Stress

Reflexology is a science which deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way, a type of preventative maintenance. Reflexology should not be confused with Massage (www.reflexology-usa.net); but can be combined with a Massage Treatment.

Some consider the feet to be the “sole of the body.” Most alignment and balance issues start here due to low arches, weakness in the ankles, plantar fasciitis, or just plain achy feet. There have been testimonials that after the feet are massaged, the rest of the body instantly relaxes. Foot Massage is always a fabulous thing to have after a stressful day, or just because.
